Story of OMP

In April 2001, Dr. Kishor Vora built a bold, new medical complex on the corner of East Parrish Avenue and Breckenridge Street, ‘The Owensboro Medical Practice’. A state-of-the-art facility, anchored by Dr. Vora’s cardiology practice, Owensboro Heart and Vascular, it grew quickly to include a variety of excellent health services under his leadership like primary care and urgent care.

Who we are?

Owensboro Medical Practice was founded by Kishor Vora MD, FACC, FSCAI, Medical Director who in early 2000 saw an opportunity for a new medical facility in Owensboro, KY, and began exploring the possibilities of a new healthcare organization located on the corner of Parrish Avenue and Breckenridge Street now known as Owensboro Medical Practice.

A Look at Our Practice’s History

  • July 2014 – Dr. Shirish Patel, after practicing in Owensboro for almost 20 years, joined Owensboro Primary Care.
  • January 2013 – Rejuve Aesthetics adds SlimLipo to its list of services, making Dr. Vora the first in the area to offer SlimLipo, Laser-Assisted Lipolysis. Rejuve has been renamed to Rejuve Medical Spa
  • April 2012 – Rejuve Aesthetics joined Owensboro Medical Practice and began seeing patients for a wide variety of skin care needs including laser treatments
  • April 2009- Research Division was expanded for conducting clinical studies for many pharmaceutical and device companies.
  • Installation of a new GE64 Slice CT Unit in March 2007, the most advanced CT Scanner available in March 2007. The Owensboro Advanced Sleep Center opened its state-of-the-art facility, equipped to diagnose and treat the full range of sleep disorders, in November of 2007.
  • Dr. Namita Gopal joined her private practice with OMP in January 2006. Dr. Vora was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year for 2006 by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Vora installed Owensboro’s only dedicated Siemens Biograph PET/CT combination scanner in July 2006.
  • OMP Lab became full service reference lab in October 2005.
  • Owensboro Physical Therapy joined our Owensboro Medical Practice in March 2004. The Immediate Care Center opened a second location on Frederica street in Owensboro, in March 2004. The Muhlenberg Clinic, a primary care walk-in clinic began taking patients in August 2004.
  • OMP was named Employer of the Year in 2003 by Owensboro Business & Professional Women’s Club.
  • The Hancock Clinic, a family practice and internal medicine clinic, opened its doors to the public in January 2002. Health Scan, the first Electron Beam Tomography CT scan system in Kentucky, became operational in June 2002.
  • Dr. Vora was nominated as Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater Owensboro Chamber of Commerce in 2002
  • OMP opened its doors to patients in April 2001 with only 18 employees. The company has now grown to 100+ team members.
  • The Immediate Care Center, an urgent care facility, and the McLean Clinic, an internal medicine and family practice clinic, both began taking patients in July 2001. When Immediate Care Center opened, we added an x-ray to the practice on Breckenridge Street. Owensboro Primary Care, an internal medicine and family practice clinic, became operational in August 2001. OMP Laboratory became operational in August 2001.
