We are also so proud of two big achievements of Dr. Vora in his Cardiovascular Center. In October 2020, Dr. Vora became the first doctor in the world to use the recently FDA approved Control 11F Mechanical Thrombectomy System to remove large blood clots from patients with Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). DVT is a serious condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in a vein located deep inside your body. Several eminent publications, such as Endovascular Today, have reported this news. So, Dr. Vora has become a kind of celebrity in the last couple of months!
Moreover, Dr. Vora also became the first doctor in Kentucky to use the Rotarex S. Device by Bard, a hybrid device that can remove both, atheroma (plaque) and thrombus (blood clots) at the same time. The use of device is restricted neither by the nature of the clot, nor by the length of occlusion. It is so gratifying that Dr. Vora is putting our little town of Owensboro on the global map through his achievements.
